This was my first time going to this salon and Youmi was wonderful! I had a bad experience with a previous hairstylist as they cut my hair very badly. (I’ve had to wait months for my hair to grow out) I asked Youmi for her recommendation and she was able to salvage my hair thankfully and I’m so happy I was able to find her. Recently discovered a fantastic hair salon at Yonge and Finch, conveniently located next to GoodLife Fitness in the Xerox building. Youmi, the stylist, is not only knowledgeable about the latest hair trends but also incredibly friendly. After numerous disappointments with other salons in the Yonge and Finch to Yonge and Sheppard area, I finally got a refreshing cut from her. My barber was a lady, she was the only one working so probably she is the owner. Her haircut is average at best and while she was cutting my hair she kept talking to other clients who I think are her regulars… I felt she wasn’t really concentrating on my haircut and more interested in the conversation. I came here twice already since I really prefer their services over my previous salon. First appointment was for a haircut and Anna was able to address my hair situation as she was knowledgeable. Requested for curtain bangs with lot’s of layers which Anna delivered and a did a very nice blowout afterwards. I dyed my hair for the first time but I didn’t choose what color should I do, so Yujin hairdresser dyed my hair freestyle and it looks super good. Even thought I decolorized 3 times, my hair condition is still perfect. Also her haircut skills are incredibly good. Also everyone was very nice and taking care of me during dying my hair. What’s the point of a consultation if they’re going to cut how they want it?
I showed them pictures of the specific bangs I wanted; chunky face framing pieces below my cheek bones with some wispy front bangs falling mid eye level. They said “yes yes, ok” and proceeded to cut. I said it didn’t look like what i wanted, can you bring down more side hair to give me that long face frame. Then I was told my hair was too thin for this style. Why was this not mentioned at the consultation?!
I also mentioned wanting a light trim, showed her where and she proceeds to cut…only checking in at the end if the length was OK. It’s really too late !!! Cutting then checking with your client is too late.
My face framing pieces are now above my cheeks and it looks like i received a bowl cut. My bangs are uneven after I wash my hair out.
I didn’t feel heard each time I raised a concern. Really not happy.

I came in for a setting and straightening perm. I have naturaly curly hair. The consultation was very thoughtful and thorough. My hair was already damaged from previous processing so I was advised the curls would hold differently and what to expect from the perm. I was also suggested a hair treatment before to help.
The process took 4.5 hours, the wifi here was reliable and fast so I was able to get work done. It was nice they also offered me a cushion block making working on my laptop less straining. ♡
Super happy with the results and how she trimmed my hair. Will be back for touch ups.

I got a hair bleach and colour service as the salon was running a promotion. Although I used to frequent Hair Bank Bloor while I was living downtown, the quality and service at their uptown location still wowed me! Having had previous hair colour/bleaching services done in the past, I was impressed with the level of efficiency and expertise here. My hair is still strong after multiple rounds of bleaching and Laura and her assistant were very kind and knowledgeable in answering my questions. As a family-run operation, they were also very hospitable to me during my long hair service, offering tea and baked goods.
I only take off one star because I felt that Laura and her assistant were quite rough when touching my head and hair. I have extremely fine and breakable hair and any sort of aggressive brushing or pulling snaps my hair. I’m not sure why it was so hasty since the salon was not necessarily busy (I doubt they intended to be harsh) but it was extremely uncomfortable at times with the pulling during bleach application and the hair washing by Laura. I heard and saw some hairs snap during the application process.
Other notable mentions: clean shop with free on site parking + they honoured the promotion price we discussed although they added a colour removal service and small trim, which at other salons would have caused a big markup [Emma Ni]

Great service but overpriced and unprofessional hairstylist. I showed the stylist (a male but I won’t disclose his name) a short bob haircut but turns out my bangs were cut an inch shorter and my head looks like a mushroom. He didn’t bother to look at the pic I showed… and the outcome was very different from the photo I showed, would not come again. Definitely not worth $70… I wished the haircut would be somehow a bit Japanese but totally not.

Masa always takes good care of my hair and does exactly what I ask for. He has a lot of attention to detail and always checks in with me throughout the appointment.

Very pleased with my first time visit to this salon for a hair cut before the holidays. Located in a convenient spot, only steps away from Finch station. Rosie has good attention to detail, double checks to make sure all the ends are even, and checks in with you throughout. At first, I was hesitant since fringe cuts don’t suit me as well as they look in the hair model picture from my consultation.. She is the first stylist to create a pretty fringe look on my short hair. Will return!
