Ryan and his program are great! I did a puppy board & train for a few weeks. My puppy (Milo) came back obedient, calm and has been much easier to manage. Ryan made sure to keep an open line of communication the entire time that he had my puppy, and frequently sent videos and pictures. Following his training, Ryan has provided me with the tools to maintain everything that Milo learned. I reached out to Ryan after many disappointing experiences with “other” dog group and private trainings that yielded no real results. I met with Ryan for a consultation and was impressed with his knowledge and confidence. He reassured me that I would be the last trainer I would ever need and will not be disappointed again. I immediately felt an ease and big burden lifted off me since my dog was getting older (9 months old) and I wanted to get her general obedience and loose leash walking under control. I had wasted some much time and money already that I decided to go with the 2 week board and train. I was very nervous since this was the first time we would be apart. During the 2 weeks Ryan gave me daily video updates where I could see real progress which was very comforting to me. After the 2 weeks Lexi came back calm and learned how to chill in her “place” at home as in the past she was full of energy and always getting into mischief like counter surfing and destroying our personal items if we didn’t put them away. Now she only plays with her toys and understands the rules and boundaries in the house. I was really impressed that Lexi was able to “generalize” a lot of training in our home. Also our walks are more enjoyable with no pulling and lunging at other dogs. She has learned great impulse control and doesn’t chase squirrels on our walks as well. Ryan is a true “miracle” worker and am truly grateful to him to help Lexi to become the best version of herself and overall improved her relationship with the whole family. We reached out to Ryan after receiving a positive referral from a friend. Buddy, our 1-year old Border Collie x Bernese Mountain dog was super energetic, mouthy, pulled on the leash, jumped on the furniture, ran all around the house and would not stop barking for attention. Ryan explained to us that this is common for dogs that lack the proper obedience and structure in the home. Hence, we met with Ryan for our first consultation and he instantly made us feel re-assured that this was completely normal behaviour and that training would certainly help to develop better and more positive habits.
We enrolled in the 2-week board and train program and could not have been happier with the results. Buddy made signfiicant improvements by learning to settle down, nip less, walk properly on the leash, stay off the furniture and understand the boundaries in the house. Using the foundation that Ryan was able to set up for Buddy, we have been able to maintain these new learned behaviours and have seen very positive changes in the home and on our walks together.
Not to mention that throughout the time Buddy was away for training, Ryan shared many videos of the progress he was making each day and was always available to answer our questions. Even better, the follow up lessons after the training were instrumental in ensuring that we had the proper support to continuously reinforce the new learned behaviours. What else can I say about the guys at Mellow Vibes Dog Training!?! Thanks to Boysie, Paul and Daniel my Golden Doodle Ginger is a well behaved, relaxed and happy dog! Very unexpectedly we had the opportunity to rescue a beautiful puppy…….our dilemma was that we had plans to travel out of country 12 days later for 3 weeks……Mellow Vibes was highly recommended and I had met 2 well trained graduates of their live-in program so when Paul and Boysie said they would board and train the puppy it was a go!
The puppy was very sweet but we were its 4th home in a month and we were at our wits end after a messy, frustrating 11 days and then happily off to Mellow Vibes!
The puppy they returned to us (only 4 mos) was obedient, mostly house trained and no longer the feisty Alpha dog in our home…….he is so delightful, loving and still so sweet, always looking to please and taking his cues from us……..we are now thoroughly able to fully enjoy those dreaded early puppy months!

Our German Shepherd rescue Cairo was a rescue – a street dog. He was sweet, calm and affectionate with us but walking him on the leash was anything but sweet as he was what someone called “leash aggressive” where he was barking and lounging at any dogs passing by and occasionally at people who were literally just walking by. It got to the stage where we were walking him at off peak hours because we didn’t want to run into people. He was taking us for a walk instead of the other way around.
We were looking for a trainer in the city and came across Mellow Vibes. From our first consultation with Paul we knew we were on to a good thing. On our first visit he suggested that we switch to a Gentle Leader or Halti leash and offered lots of reasons why Cairo behaved as he did and ways to correct his behaviour. He took his time and listened and offered advice. After we left, changing to this leash made a HUGE difference.
We had to wait to get into the board and train program but all good things are in high demand!! Nathan was Cairo’s trainer and he kept us updated from the beginning to let us know how he was doing. When I picked him up he spent hours demonstrating what Cairo had learned and showing me how to correct my learned behaviours and how to correct Cairo’s behaviours. I HONESTLY thought I had been given a different dog back. He’s now calm around other dogs and people, walks at my heel, sits and comes on command just to name a few. All of this was just a dream before.
So from the bottom of my heart….thank you so much Nathan (and Paul). Mellow Vibes has made a huge difference to our family and to Cairo’s life. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nathan, Paul and the team at Mellow Vibes to any dog owner. [Wendy Curran]

We have been taking Apollo here for classes, so far we have done Level 1, and Level 2 obedience classes. They are well priced for how many classes we get, and Apollo has not only learned everything but still remembers his training. It was also a great way to socialize him as a puppy.
